멧비둘기[Oriental Turtle Dove]의 다른 아종 S. o. orii

Taipei식물원에서 친근한 멧비둘기를 만났다. 

'이야~ 반갑다!! 너는 여기에도 사는구나!'

그런데 눈 주위가 좀 빨갛구나? 다른 녀석인가? 자료를 뒤져 보니 Taiwan에 사는 멧비둘기는 우리나라에 살고 있는 'Streptopelia orientalis orientalis'와는 다른 아종인 'S. o. orii '였다. 뭐가 다른 거지? 일단 눈 주위가 좀 더 빨갛고, 가슴부터 배까지 붉은 기운이 좀 더 강한가? 거의 똑같구만 ^^;; 두 아종 사이의 정확한 차이에 대해서는 잘 모르겠다.
